Literature Text

At Lord Darkness's castle, he locks Annie up into a prison cell.

Lord Darkness: You make sure you don't go anywhere, I'll be keeping you here until we're all ready.

Annie: I will never be ready for you. My big brother will come and save me.

Lord Darkness: He wouldn't dare save you, not with all the creatures in this land.

Annie: He's a secret agent in another dimension.

Lord Darkness: That doesn't matter to me.

Lord Darkness then went over to Bloongo.

Lord Darkness: Bloongo, I want you to make sure the prisoner doesn't try anything funny. Don't let her trick you into releasing her.

Bloogo: I got it, master.

And Bloongo went over to Annie's cell. Meanwhile, Renae and I had just entered this new land.

Eli: Where are we?

Renae: I don't know. I've never been here before.

Just then, a dark blue snake wearing glasses, a wizard's hat and a snake's shirt popped out of a hole in the ground.

Wizzy: Welcome to Magical Wonderland, Hero. My name is Wizzy, the snake wizard.

Eli: Hello, Wizzy.

Wizzy: I knew that you would come and save us from Lord Darkness. He has been ruling over us for about a year now.

Eli: Don't worry, me and my new friend, Renae will help defeat him.

Renae: Don't you mean daughter?

Eli: I said we'll take about that. Let's focus on saving my sister first, then we'll decide if we can be father and daughter. Until then, don't call me "Daddy," call me "Eli,"

Renae: Okay Da-Err...Eli.

Eli: I've come here because my little sister was kidnapped by Lord Darkness.

Renae: He also turned my mommy and daddy into skeletons. I'm avenging them.

Wizzy: Your journey will not be very easy since you will not be able to enter Lord Darkness' hideout right away. There are 9 different areas in this land you must visit before you can reach his hideout.

Eli: What exactly do we have to do?

Wizzy: Lord Darkness has blocked off some of the areas in the hub land with coin doors. The doors will not open up unless you collect the number of coins the door says. You can find the coins in the different lands. There are about 120 coins in each land. You don't have to worry about collecting all of them because the most you'll really need by the end is 1,000.

Renae: What are the total number of coins we can collect?

Wizzy: Let's see...120 times 9 is....uh...1080. So there are 80 extra coins. You will also need to collect Wizard Crystals to open the 9 different lands. There are 10 to be found in each area as well as 10 to be found throughout the hub land. I have the first one, which is all you'll need to reach the first land.

Eli: Great.

Wizzy: I can also teach you two some abilities to help you on your way. I'll see you in the first land you need to go to.

And Wizzy went into the hole.

Eli: For a snake, he sure is friendly.

Renae: I know. Now let's get going, Daddy...I mean Eli.

So we explore the area until we found a spot that had some jungle trees surrounding the area. There was a sealed door that had an image of a Wizard Crystal with the number 1 on it. We also saw another Wizard Crystal, but it was behind transparent glass. We went over to it and saw it. Wizzy then popped out of the ground.

Wizzy: I see you found the second of the Wizard Crystals that can be found in the hub land.

Renae: How do we open it up?

Wizzy: Somewhere in the area you are about to enter is a Wizard Crystal switch. When you press it, the glass here will break. You can retrieve it after you return from this area.

Eli: Alright. Come on, Renae. Let's go.

We walked over to the first door and with the first Wizard Crystal in our possession, the door opened up. It was a split door.

Eli: Here we go.

And we walked in. Meanwhile at Darkness's castle, he was observing me on his viewing globe.

Lord Darkness: So, that heroic hedgehog and his little dragon friend got their first Wizard Crystal? Wizzy, you traitor. But no matter. My minions in the jungle will take care of those two. They won't be able to leave that place alive. That little dragon will suffer the same fate her parents did. Muahahahaha.

(We collect the coins as we go, I'm not going to bother telling you every single time we get any)

We started to explore until we came across some pillars from the ground. Each one being taller than the last and they all let up to another area.

Eli: How are we going to get up there?

Renae: I don't know Da-err...Eli.

Eli: Can't you fly us up there?

Renae: I think you're a little heavy for me.

Just then, Wizzy came out of the ground.

Wizzy: I see you've come across an issue here.

Eli: We certainly have. Can you help us?

Wizzy: Certainly. Do you see that blue pad with a dragon's foot on it?

Renae: Yeah.

Wizzy: Renae can use that to jump higher than she normally could. If she stands on one and you're holding her tail, Eli, she'll be able to get both of you up to hard-to-reach places.

Eli: Thanks, Wizzy.

So we went over to the first pad and Renae landed on it. I then grabbed her tail.

Renae: Hold tight.

She then took a jump and we made it to the first pillar. There was another pad up there. We kept going until we made it. When we did, we found a green Wizard Crystal and we collected it. (Just to let you know, we're carrying a magic bag that stores all our items regardless of their size)

We continued on through the area. We then came across some large blocks and some switches.

Eli: OK. I bet we need to push a block onto each switch, but nothing happened.

Eli: Huh? Nothing happened.

Renae: That's strange.

I then notice that each block had a number on it. I moved the block with the number 1 off the switch to show it said 3.

Eli: I think I know what we have to do. We need to move each block onto the switch with the matching number.

Renae: That makes more sense.

So we do exactly that and the next Wizard Crystal Appeared.

We continued through the jungle until we came upon a monkey who was looking sad.

Eli: Monkey!

Renae gave a confused look.

Eli: What? There's a monkey.

Renae: I know, but the way you said it.

Eli: I just like to say it like this. Let's see what's going on.

We walk over to the monkey.

Eli: Hello, Monkey. What's going on?

Minky: The name's Minky. I'm sad because this big gorilla came in and stole my bunch of bananas.

Eli: Don't worry, we'll get them back for you. Now where are they?

Minky pointed over.

Minky: Just up that hill. Do be careful. He doesn't like intruders.

Renae: OK. We'll be careful.

Renae was scared, but I wasn't. We went up the hill and found the gorilla. He was sleeping.

Eli: There he is. We better get the bananas before he wakes up.

So we went over, but I stepped into some leaves surrounding the area, waking the gorilla up.

Gungo: Huh? Who dares wake up, Gungo?

He then saw me and Renae, grabbed us in his hand, and threw us down the hill.

Gungo: This Gungo's patch. Stay out!

And he went back to sleep.

Eli: That hurt.

Renae: Da-uh..Eli. I think it was those leaves that woke him up.

Eli: You're right. This time, we'll sneak quietly up.

So we went back up and this time, I tip-toed onto the leaves, making hardly any sound. I then grabbed the bananas and tip-toed back. We made it back to Minky.

Eli: Here are you're bananas, Minky.

Minky: Thank you so much. Take this as a token of your bravery.

We were given the third Green Wizard Crystal.

Minky: But if he wakes up, he could steal them again, could you please go and do something about him?

Eli: No problem.

Renae: You mean we have to go back up there again?

Eli: We can't have him keep stealing bananas from Minky.

So we went back up the hill just and Gungo woke up.

Gungo: Huh? You again?

He then noticed his bananas were missing.

Gungo: Me bananas. You took them. This means trouble.

The hill we went up disappeared, trapping us. This was a boss fight. Gungo got out a bunch of oranges and started throwing some at us. We managed to dodge them until he got tired. We went over and I gave him a couple of punches. Then hurried back to the outer point and he continued throwing the oranges. We kept doing this 2 more times, then, when he got tired for the third time, I gave him some punches and he had enough.

Gungo: Stop it, please. I give up. Take this, I'll never steal bananas from that monkey again.

We got the fourth Green Wizard Crystal.
