Eli-Renae Part 4: Down Into the Ground

We make it to the next area of Magical Wonderland. It was a nice calm place, but there was a huge anthill up ahead.

Eli: I wonder what that could be?

Renae: I don't know. Let's take a look.

Eli: Good idea.

So we walk over and find that it's the entrance to another level. We also see the Wizard Crystal behind the barred door that we couldn't get to. We had enough Wizard Crystals to enter this level.

Eli: OK, Renae. Here we go.

Renae: (Gulp) OK.

Renae was scared, but she followed me as I went in.

Climatic Colony.

We were in an underground area.

Eli: I wonder what this place could be.

Wizzy then appeared.

Wizzy: This is Climatic Colony. Home of the enormous ants. Once, they were ordinary ants, but some magic made their anthill, along with everything inside larger.

Renae: Giant ants?

Renae hid behind my back. She was scared.

Wizzy: There's nothing to worry about, little Renae. They are quite friendly to visitors. They should help you find the next series of Wizard Crystal's you need for your adventure. Good luck.

And Wizzy disappeared. We walked into the colony and found all sorts of tunnels. About 4 to be exact. We went into the 3 one and ended up in the main area of the colony with all sorts of ants around the place.

Eli: I don't think I have ever seen ants this big before.

Renae: M-m-m-me nei-i-ither.

Renae was still cowering behind by back.

Then, one of the ants came to us.

Ant: Hello. Who might you be?

Eli: I'm Eli and this is Renae. We're here because we're looking for Wizard Crystals. I need to find them so I can reach Lord Darkness' hideout and save my sister.

Ant: Lord Darkness? That's a nasty fellow. He came in here earlier and caused some trouble. He even brought in a giant Anteater to try to eat us all, but we managed to seal it at the back of the colony. If you can get rid of it for us, I'm sure you'll find one of the Wizard Crystals you need?

Eli: Where is it?

The ant took us to a tunnel.

Ant: It's found in this tunnel. Just be careful you don't get eaten.

Eli: Hey, it's an anteater. Not a Hedgehog-eater. Plus, nothing would want to eat me, I got these sharp quills on my back. They'd just spit me out the first second after putting me in my mouth.

Ant: OK. Good luck.

And the ant left us. Renae was a bit scared.

Renae: I-I think I may stay out here.

Eli: Oh no, you're coming with me, young lady!

Renae:

Eli: I can't do it alone.

Renae: O...K.

So we head inside the tunnel, we soon arrive at a door.

Eli: The anteater must be in here. We must get in.

Renae: (In thought) I sure he doesn't notice that he could just lift the door open.

Eli: I know. We can just lift it open.

Renae: Oh. I was afraid of that.

So I got my hands under the door and lifted it up.

Eli: There we go.

I walk in, but Renae stayed where she was. I then grabbed her by the arm and brought here in. We then saw the large anteater sleeping. He soon woke up and the door behind us closed shut.

Anteatanator: What is this. Some other strange bug has come? I'll just stop you down.

Eli: Haha. Try it.

Renae cowered again.

Eli: I have a little move of my own now.

Anteatanator got his foot ready and prepared to stop on me, but then I curled down and got my spines up just his foot made an impact on me.

Anteatanator: Oweoweoweowe.

And he got slightly smaller. He then started shooting balls out of his nose, but I avoided them. He then made another attempt at crushing me with his foot, but I curled up again and my spines protected me.

Anteatanator: Oweoweoweowe.

And he got slightly smaller again. He shot balls out of his nose again and I avoided them again.

Eli: Now it's your turn, Renae.

Renae: Me?

Anteatanator tried to step on me again. Renae was scared, but she did blow fire on his foot.

Anteatanator: Oweoweoweowe. That's hot!

And he got smaller again. He repeated his process of shooting balls at us, but we avoided them. Then he tried one more time to squish us, but once again I curled up and my spines protected me and he got to the size of a normal Mobian Anteater.

Anteater: What? What happened?

Renae and I were confused.

Eli: You mean, you don't remember anything?

Anteater: All I remember is that I met with this weird guy in a cloak and he showed me this anthill. He let me go inside to eat some ants, but they locked me up here.

Renae: What is your actual name?

Anteater: I'm Anthony. I think I was brainwashed. Am I in Climatic Colony?

Eli: Yes.

Anthony: Oh. That's where the giant ants lives. I can't eat them. Thank you for bring me back to my senses. Take this for your troubles.

We received the first Wizard Crystal of this level.

Climatic Colony's Wizard Crystal Total: 1/10

Anthony: Well, I'm going home now. Maybe we'll see each other again, someday.

And he left. We soon returned to the main room in the colony and we told the ants everything.

Ant: I see. So he was just under mind-control. It's good to know he's alright now.

Eli: There are still 9 other Wizard Crystals we need to find.

Ant: I think there are some things you'll need to do in this place. Just look around.

Renae: OK. Let's go Dad, I mean Eli.

Eli: -_-

Eli: (In thought) Actually, I think I may like having her call me Dad. But first, save Annie.

So we explore the colony. We then found a waterfall with a Wizard Crystal behind it.

Eli: Hey, this is just like a level in a game I played about a bear and a bird.

Renae: Any way we can get it?

Eli: You could fly to it.

Renae: I can't fly that high while carrying you, and I'm too scared to go too far from you.

Then Wizzy appeared.

Wizzy: No need to worry yourself. I have a solution.

Eli: What's that?

Wizzy: Here.

Wizzy points to a pad with a pair of dragon wings on it.

Wizzy: This is the fly pad. It will allow Renae to fly while carrying you, Eli.

Eli: That sounds handy. So we can use it to get the Wizard Crystal.

Wizzy: Yes. Good luck.

And he left.

I stepped onto the pad and Renae grabbed my arms. The magic of the pad gave Renae enough strength to carry me into the air. We flew other to the Wizard Crystal and got it.

Climatic Colony's Wizard Crystal Total: 2/10

Eli: Let's see where this tunnel takes us.

Renae: Great idea, Da-Eli.

We went in and it was a room full of crystals.

Eli: How beautiful. Crystals.

Renae: They're so pretty.

Eli: Hey look.

I saw a Wizard Crystal behind a crystal wall.

Eli: I wish there was a way to get it.

Renae then saw a mine cart.

Renae: I think we need to use this mine cart to get to it.

Eli: But the cart isn't even facing the wall.

Renae: But I bet if we go down that tunnel, we'll be able to get to it.

Eli: OK.

So we got into the cart and the cart started to roll. We rolled through an old mine. It looked like it had not be used in years. We rolled for a while until we saw an unfinished part of the track.

Eli: Uh oh. It looks like we'll have to jump them.

Renae: OK.

So we did and we made it to the other side. Then some statues tried to block our way, but we jumped over them. We continued down for a while. We then came across some doors that kept opening and closing. We had to slow down and speed up for each of them in order to get through them. We then reached a fork in the track. One way was a dead end and the other way was the way we needed to go.

Eli: Oh dear. Lean to the left, Renae.

So we leaned to the left and the cart went to the left. We then saw another fork. This time, it was the right path we needed to go.

Eli: Lean right. Lean right.

So we leaned right and we made it over. We then came across some tracks that moved from side to side. We rolled onto them and made it all the way through. We soon made it to the end.

Eli: Well, what do you know. This was the path that brought us to the Wizard Crystal.

Climatic Colony's Wizard Crystal Total: 3/10

We then saw a tunnel that lead out. We were in the room where we were at before going into the waterfall cave, but the door closed behind us so we couldn't go back. This would have prevented us from getting the Crystal straight from there.
