MLP: PAM S2 E17: Derek's New Friends

One day at TUFF, everybody noticed that Derek was sitting next to the water cooler he had just brought to us.

Dudley: Derek's been sitting there all day, hasn't he?

Eli: Do you think that he's still upset about what Eric did?

Kitty: He probably is. I know it was heartbreaking for me both when Purpose turned out to be Eric, but it was even more heartbreaking for what he did to Andy months before.

Katty: I'll go talk to Derek. Maybe I can cheer him up.

Kitty: Good idea, Katty.

So Katty went over to Derek.

Katty: Derek, is there anything wrong?

Derek: It's nothing, Katty.

Katty: You're still upset about what Eric did, aren't you?

Derek just nodded.

Katty: You should be thankful you have great friends here at TUFF.

Derek: I know, but that doesn't really cheer me up.

Then, Katty got an idea.

Katty: I know, maybe a trip to Equestria would cheer you up.

Derek: What's Ex-quick-ia?

Kitty then walked over.

Kitty: It's pronounced "Equestria."

Dudley: It's a world of ponies. They know how to make people happy. Well, one particular one does.

Derek: Well, I suppose I could.

Katty: Great.

Later on, Katty took Derek to her Equestrian Mirror Portal.

Derek: What's this? It just looks like a fancy mirror.

Katty: This isn't an ordinary mirror, Derek. It's a magical portal. We can walk through it and we'll be in Equestria. And also be turned into ponies.

Derek: Uh....I'm not sure I want that.

Katty: It'll be fine. Everybody has done it.

Derek: OK. I suppose it might be fun.

Katty: Great.

So they walked through the mirror together and they ended up at Katty's house in Ponyville.

Katty: Well, here we are.

Derek: Hey, you turned into a pony.

Katty: I told you that's what happens.

Derek then noticed he was a pony, too.

Derek: Oh wow. This is amazing.

Derek then noticed Katty's cutie-mark.

Derek: Uh, Katty, why is the TUFF Badge on your side?

Katty: Oh. This is my cutie-mark. Everypony in Equestria either has one or will have one.

Derek: Do I have one?

Katty: Well, why don't you look?

He did look, but there was nothing.

Derek: I got nothing.

Katty: Don't worry. When you realize your special talent, you'll get yours.

Derek: But I already know what I'm going at, bringing in water at TUFF everyday.

Then, he looked again and saw there was now a water jug as his cutie-mark.

Derek: How did this appear so quickly?

Katty: You realized your special talent while you were here in Equestria. Now let's look around the town.

So they went outside into Ponyville where there were lots of ponies. More ponies than Derek had ever seen before.

Derek: Wow. So many ponies. Are they also cats from our world?

Katty: Not all of them. Most of them actually come from here, while others come from other dimensions like our own. They turned into ponies as well.

Then, the Mane Six came over to them.

Twilight: Hey, Katty. Your sister sent us a message telling us you and your friend, Derek were coming.

Pinkie: We heard this is his first visit to Equestria.

Katty: Indeed. I brought him here to see if it would cheer him up after we found out his brother was a villain.

Rainbow Dash: His brother?

Derek: Didn't Kitty ever tell you ponies about Eric?

Rarity: She had a couple of times.

Derek: Well, I'm his brother. And he turned out to be a villain.

Fluttershy: It must be awful when someone in your family turns out to be evil.

Derek: It certainly is.

Katty: Kitty knows how you feel considering my own past of being evil.

Applejack: But at least you're on our side now, Katty.

Pinkie: So you say you need to make friends?

Derek: That's right.

Pinkie: Well, look no more. We can show you all around Ponyville.

Twilight: Let's start with my castle.

Derek: You have a castle?

Twilight: Yes. I'm a princess. The Princess of Friendship. Katty's niece, Shine is also a princess, too.

Derek: Wow. That's so cool. I wonder why she never told me.

Katty: Maybe it's because we never told you about this place until now.

So they all went to Twilight's castle. Derek was amazed at the castle.

Derek: Wow. This is so amazing.

Twilight: And here is the throne room.

Applejack: We each have our own throne. We're Twilight's friends and we've helped her protect Equestria so many times.

Rainbow Dash flew into her throne.

Rainbow Dash: Isn't it great?

Derek then noticed the mirror portal Twilight set up during "Rainbow Rocks."

Derek: What's this? This looks kind of like the portal Katty and I used to enter this world.

Twilight: That portal leads to Canterlot High. I've been there twice to help my friends there. They look identical to my friends here.

Rarity: The portal use to only open at certain points of time, but Twilight fixed it so she could use it whenever she needed to.

Twilight: The last time I was there, I helped my friends stop 3 girls who are sirens from this world who were banished by Starswirl the Bearded a long time ago.

Derek: Sirens?

Twilight got a book to show Derek.

Derek: Wow. They look terrifying.

Twilight: I know. They fed off people's anger and it made them stronger. That was why they were banished. They tried doing the same thing by brainwashing the people of Canterlot High, but my friends and I were unaffected.

Derek: May I ask how?

Katty: They must been all protected or something.

Then Spike came into the room.

Spike: Hey, everypony. I heard we have a visitor.

Derek: Who's this?

Spike: I'm Spike.

Derek: I'm Derek. This is my first visitor to Equestria.

And then they explained to Spike what happened.

Spike: Oh my. That sounds awful.

Applejack: OK, Derek. Now that you've seen Twilight's place, why don't I take you to Sweet Apple Acres?

Katty: You're going to love that place, Derek.

Derek: OK.

Applejack: Great.

So Applejack, Katty, and Derek headed on over to the farm.

Applejack: Here we are. Sweet Apple Acres. Here we grow and sell apples.

Derek: So you're a farming horse?

Applejack gasped.

Katty: Pony! Don't call her a horse. Don't feel bad. I made the same mistake last Christmas.

Derek: Sorry, Applejack. So you're a farming pony?

Applejack: I certainly am. Let me take you around.

They went to the field.

Applejack: Here's the field where we grow our apples.

Derek: Wow. So many apple trees.

Katty: I know. It's quite a lot.

Then they went to the cow field.

Applejack: And here are our cows.

And then, Applejack even showed them the Crusader's tree house.

Applejack: And this is the old tree house where my sister and her friends have their meetings.

Derek: Meetings about what?

Katty: They're a group that calls themselves the "Cutie-Mark Crusaders." They're trying to help each other find out their special talents.

Applejack: And to earn their cutie-marks.

Derek: Sounds impressive.

Katty: Ready to go somewhere else, Derek?

Derek: Oh yeah.

So They went to different locations in Ponyvile, they went to Fluttershy's cottage, where she showed them all the animals she cares for, then to Rarity's shop, where she showed them the dresses she makes, then to Rainbow Dash's place. Derek was impressed with the trophies Rainbow Dash had. And then to Sugarcube Corner where Pinkie showed them all about the Bakery. Soon, it was the end of the day.

Derek: I really enjoyed my first visit to Equestria. I hope I can come back again.

Twilight: You're welcome at anytime, Derek.

Derek: It really did cheer me up.

Katty: It's time to go home, Derek.

Derek: OK.

Twilight: I'll let Princess Celestia know that you need your own universal portal to get here.

Rainbow Dash: Our you could always take the train like Shine does.

Derek: Thank you all very much. I'll see you later.

All Six: See you later, Derek.
