SDA S7 Ep18: Renae Goes To the Water Park

It was a fine day in August. Renae had been living with me for the past couple of months after we saved my sister from the evil Lord Darkness. I had to go over some rules for her such as no flying in the house and no breathing fire. She had been behaving really well, so I decided to give her a treat. One day, she was in her room playing with my old toys when I knocked on her door.

Renae: Come in.

I walked in.

Eli: Renae, I was thinking that since you have been doing very well with following the rules in the house, I've decided to give you a treat.

Renae: Oh. You mean like cake or ice cream.

Eli: Not that kind of treat, I mean I'm thinking of taking you to the water park.

Renae: Water park? What's that?

Eli: A water park is kind of like an amusement park with water.

Renae: What's an amusement park?

Eli: You don't know?

Renae: Hey, I've lived my whole life in Magical Wonderland, Dad. I've never seen any of those things.

Eli: Well, why don't I show you pictures online?

Renae: OK.

Renae started to fly into the air.

Eli: Ahem!

Renae: Oh right. (Lands) No flying in the house.

Eli: Thank you.

We walk to my room and I typed in "Water park" into Google Images and the images popped up.

Renae: Oh wow. That's amazing.

Eli: I was thinking of taking you to the water park here in the city. Would you like that?

Renae: Oh yes.

Eli: OK. I'll go order tickets online.

A few days later, we went to the water park and I handed in our tickets. When Renae walked in, she was amazed at all the other people at the park.

Renae: Wow.

Eli: Now remember, Renae, you're not the only one at the park. So please be patient and don't cut in line.

Renae: OK. I'll just fly over them.

Eli: No, Renae. The rules at the park say "No flying over lines." There are also rules against flying over the fence without paying.

Renae: Not even to get out?

Eli: I don't think there's a rule about that, but certainly no flying over the fence from outside. But let's leave through the main gate together.

Renae: But we just got here.

Eli: I meant when we're ready to leave. We have the whole day to have fun.

Renae: OK, then.

Eli: First, you must have sunscreen applied so you don't get sunburned.

Renae: I'm a dragon, I'm sure I won't get sunburned.

Eli: Don't be so sure, Renae.

I put some sunscreen all over my body and then got some on Renae as well. She didn't like it though.

Renae: Oh. So sticky.

Eli: OK. Go off and swim. Just remember not to cut lines.

Renae: Got it.

So Renae jumped into the pool and swam around.

Renae: Hey, this water feels cold.

But after a while, she adjusted to it and just continued on.

Renae: I wonder what I should do.

She then saw a line of water with tubes. It was called a Lazy River. She went over to a tube.

Renae: What's this?

Then, she saw Sarah and Sylvia. Sarah was wearing a pink two-piece swimsuit and Sylvia was in a purple one.

Sarah: Hey, Renae.

Renae: Oh hey, Sarah. Hey, Sylvia. Can you tell me what this is?

Sylvia: That's called a tube. And this is a Lazy River.

Renae: Why is it called a "Lazy River"? It seems to be flowing to me.

Sarah: A Lazy River just means people can just get into these tubes and float around the river without doing anything except enjoying the ride.

Sylvia: We were on our way into it. Want to come along?

Renae: Sure.

Sarah and Sylvia got a two-person tube while Renae got a one-person tube. Renae flew up and landed in the tube. She waited for a while to move, but she didn't. Sarah and Sylvia then moved along. She didn't get it.

Renae: Uh....What's suppose to happen?

Sarah and Sylvia moved back to her.

Sarah: You're suppose to move yourself into the river and then leave the rest to the river.

Renae: Oh.

Renae moved her tail that was under the water and she moved forward. They moved around in the river.

Renae: Wow. This is amazing.

Sarah: It certainly is.

Sylvia: Is this the first time you've gone to a water park?

Renae: Yes. We didn't have water parks in Magical Wonderland.

Sarah: Magical Wonderland?

Renae: That's where I used to live with my dragon parents until Lord Darkness turned them to bones. It was also where my dad and I saved my Aunt Annie.

Sylvia: Oh yeah. I remember he told us about that.

Renae:

Suddenly, they heard a growling noise.

Renae: What was that?

Sarah: Sylvia's tummy again.

Sylvia: Yeah. I always get a bit hungry. Especially for ice cream.

Sarah: Why don't we go and get something to eat.

Renae: OK.

So they got out of the lazy river and went over to Tails.

Sarah: Hey Dad, can we have money for snacks?

Tails: Sure, Sarah. Oh, hey Renae. Fancy seeing you here.

Renae: Hi, Mr. Prowler.

Cream: Does your dad have money for you, Renae?

Renae: Well. I'll go ask him.

And Renae went off to look for me. She looked around, but couldn't find me.

Renae: Hmmm. I wonder where he could be.

I was waiting in line because I wanted to get an ice cream funnel cake. The line was indoors, and it was taking a long time.

Eli: (In thoughts) Ugh. I hope this line goes by pretty quickly.

Then suddenly...

Female bear at the Counter: FUNNEL!

Eli: (In thoughts) GRRRRR! What ever happened to inside voices, lady?

Renae went back to Tails and Cream.

Renae: I don't know where my dad is.

Sarah: I'm sure dad will give us money for everybody, Renae. Right, Dad?

Tails: (sighs) OK.

So Tails gave them 20 dollars to spend on snacks. They went over to the snack bar. On the way, they passed by the funnel cake line.

Sylvia: Hey, there's Renae's dad.

Renae: What?

She flew over to the window and waved her arms. I was prepared to plug my ears in the next time the bear lady yelled "funnel" which happens every time somebody ordered a funnel cake. I then saw Renae in the window and went over to her.

Eli: Renae, what are you doing?

Renae: Me, Sarah and Sylvia are on our way to get snacks.

Eli: Well I better give you some money for that.

Renae: No need. Sarah's dad took care of that for all 3 of us.

Eli: I better give you some anyway.

So I reached into my trunk pockets and pulled out some money.

Eli: Here you go.

Renae: OK. Thanks, Dad. What are you doing?

Eli: Waiting to get an ice cream funnel cake. But this line is taking a long time. You go ahead and have your fun.

Renae: OK. I will.

And Renae left and rejoined with Sarah and Sylvia. They soon got their snacks. Sarah got a chili dog, Sylvia got ice cream, and Renae got a bag of chips.

Renae: These chips are pretty good.

Sylvia: This ice cream is pretty great. The best.

Sarah: I think chili dogs are the best. My dad certainly likes them. So does Jr and his dad. As well as the rest of their family. Even Jr's Great Uncle Chuck, even though he's been robotized.

Renae: Robotized?

Sarah: Oh. Let me explain.

And Sarah told Renae the whole story about it, but you the reader already know it, so no need for you to see it.

Renae: Oh. That's kind of interesting, I suppose.

I finally showed up with my ice cream funnel cake.

Eli: Hey, girls. I finally got out and got my ice cream funnel cake.

Sylvia: Wow, that looks good, Eli. Can I have a piece?

Sarah: But you have your ice cream, Sylvia.

Eli: It's fine. It's a little big for me to have on my own anyway. I was thinking I could share it with Renae, and to you two, too.

The girls giggled a little bit.

Eli: What's so fu-Oh. Two too. I get it.

After we were finished with our snacks...

Sarah: So what do you want to do now?

Sylvia: How about we go down the huge slide.

Renae: The huge slide?

Sylvia: Yes. That one.

And Sylvia pointed over to a very very tall slide.

Eli: Oh my. That is high.

Renae: I'd like to go.

Sarah: OK. We'll all go.

Renae: You coming, Dad?

Eli: No thanks. That slide looks a bit high for me.

Renae: OK.

And they girls left. I was a bit worried about Renae, but if this was what she wanted, I let her go with it. Besides, the only thing that could hurt her with this huge slide was her fears. I decided to just go on the Lazy River. Later when I was on the Lazy River, I saw the girls come back from the slide, they were all soaked.

Eli: So how did you enjoy the giant slide? What it scary?

Renae: No. It was awesome.

Sylvia: Well, it was a little scary. I never went up so high before.

Sarah: That's because you're not a flyer like Renae and I are.

Renae: Wait, you can fly, Sarah?

Sarah: Sure can with my two tails. Watch.

And Sarah demonstrated her flying-tails ability. Then she landed.

Sarah: Dad can do it, too.

Renae: Can your mom do it?

Sarah: I think she has done it a few times, but with her ears and not her ONE tail.

Renae: What about your brothers?

Sarah: Well they each only have one tail, but they do have long ears like Mom. I don't know. I never saw them do it.

Eli: Speaking of which, where are your brothers, Sarah?

Sarah: They're over at the kiddie play area.

Renae: That sounds like fun. I want to go over there.

Eli: OK. Go ahead. I'm just going to continue on this river.

Renae: Don't you want to come along, Dad?

Eli: Nah. I'm too old for that place anyway. I would like to play on it again, but my adult-sized body would just get in the way. You go ahead.

Renae: OK.

So they went over to the kiddie play area were Shaun and Will were.

Shaun: Hey look, Will. It's Renae.

Will: Oh. Hi, Renae.

Renae: Hi guys.

Will: Where's your dad?

Renae: On the lazy river. I asked if he wanted to come and he said his adult-sized body would get in the kids' way.

Shaun: Figures.

Renae: So what are you doing?

Will: We were going to play pirate, but Shaun doesn't want to be the sea monster. He wants to be the pirate, but so do I.

Shaun: Let me be the pirate.

Will: No, I be pirate.

Renae: How about you both be pirates and I play the sea monster. I kind of look like one, don't I?

Will: Hmmm. OK. What do you say, Shaun? Can we have two pirates?

Shaun: I don't see why not.

So the Prowler Brothers got onto the ship and played pirates while Renae pretended to be the sea monster.

Shaun: First mate, Will, what do you see?

Will: I see the red sea monster. It's going to attack.

Renae: Roar.

Shaun: Fire the cannon.

Will went over to the cannon on the boat.

Will: Pow, pow.

Renae: Ah. I'm getting attacked.

Renae then played dead in the water.

Shaun: Hooray. We killed the sea monster.

Renae then stopped playing dead.

Renae: That was fun.

Shaun: It sure was.

By the end of the day, everybody was getting ready to leave.

Eli: Well, it's time to go home.

Renae: Aww. But I'm having so much fun. Can't we stay for a little longer, Dad?

Eli: Sorry, Renae. The park closed at Six and it's 5:45. We can come back sometime.

Renae: OK. I'll see you later guys.

Sarah: OK. See you around, Renae.

So we then left the park.

Eli: So, how did you enjoy the water park, Renae?

Renae: It was fun. Shaun, Will and I played pirates. They played the pirates and I played the sea monster. It was fun.

Eli: Wow. That does sound fun.

Renae: I hope we go back sometime.

Eli: We will, Renae.

And Renae smiled.
