TUFF Agents S3 Ep8: Shine Triumphs

It was a quiet morning at TUFF. Every TUFF Agent wasn't doing much except wait to be assigned a mission.

Shine: (sighs)

Shine was getting bored. She hadn't caught a bad guy all day. Then, I came into work. Shine and I were good friends.

Eli: Hi, Shine. What are you doing?

Shine: I'm bored. Aside from Aunt Kitty and you, nobody here is giving me a chance to be a real TUFF agent.

Eli: Oh. Well, I'm sure you'll get a mission soon. Maybe, on my next mission, I'll ask the Chief if you can come with me.

Shine liked that idea.

Shine: Good idea, Eli.

Then the chief called.

Chief: Agent Brown, could you report to the main room?

Eli: Now's our chance.

So Shine and I went into the mission room.

Shine: What's up, Chief?

Chief: We have Intel that Snaptrap is planning something huge in his super duper lair. We got a notice from someone earlier, but the signal was cut before we could find out who it was.

Eli: Where is the lair, Chief?

Chief: We're not really sure. You'll need to tracker to find it.

Keswick then walks in and hands me the tracker.

Keswick: You d-d-do know how this works, right?

Eli; Of course, Keswick. I've used this plenty of times. Oh, by the way, Chief, are you planning on sending Shine on any mission?

Chief: No. Why?

Eli: I told her she could come with me on my next mission.

Chief: Well, this is a job for just one agent, but....OK.

Shine: I won't let you down, Chief.

Eli: To the TUFF Mobile.

Shine and I went to the TUFF Mobile. Meanwhile in Snaptrap's Super Duper Lair.

Snaptrap: My diabolical plan is almost complete.

Ollie: And what might that be, Boss?

Snaptrap: I'm going to turn all the buildings in Petropolis into mush.

Shine and I arrived at his lair.

Eli: OK. We will need to find someway to get in. I've never been to this lair before. Have you, Shine?

Shine: Only once. That was when he kidnapped me and tried to drown me in his shark tank.

Eli: Well, do you know the way in?

Shine: There are air ducts on the roof.

Eli: Good. Let's go.

We got out our grappling hooks and grappled to the top.

Shine: There they are. Follow me.

Eli: Alright.

Shine crawled into an air duct and I went in after her. Meanwhile with Snaptrap.

Ollie: By the way boss, what will we do with her?

Ollie pointed to a chair where Kitty was seated. Her hands were chained behind her back, her feet were chained together, an iron ball was attached to it, and a large white cloth was tied over her mouth, gagging her. Kitty tried to speak, but the white cloth prevented her from speaking.

Snaptrap: Well It's obvious that her family will wonder where she is. I don't think they even know where she is right now.

Ollie: Yet she saw everything.

Francisco: Why not dump her in the lake? Nobody would find her there.

Larry: Francisco has a point, Snaptrap.

Snaptrap: Why don't I drop you into the shark tank, Larry?

Snaptrap presses a button and Larry falls into the shark tank.

Larry: Not again!

Ollie: Boss, I think Francisco's onto something. The lake's just behind this place. He and I will dump Ms. Katswell in before anyone even notices.

Kitty was still struggling and terrified by the idea.

Snaptrap: Very well, Ollie.

So Ollie and Francisco picked up Kitty and went for the lake. Luckily by that time, Shine and I heard the news.

Eli: Throw Kitty into the lake? They can't do that to her!

Shine: Eli, you stay here and take out Snaptrap. I'll rescue my aunt.

Eli: Will do, Shine.

So we split up. She went to save her aunt from Ollie and Francisco, while I went to stop Snaptrap's machine.

Snaptrap: Now. to turn Petropolis into mush.

Eli: Oh dear. How can I sto-

Then I noticed some wires on the machine. I pulled a quill from my back and had an idea.

Leather Teddy: Hmm?

I then cut the wire just as Snaptrap was about to hit the button.

Snaptrap: What? Nothing happened.

Snaptrap pressed it continuously, but nothing.

Eli: I did it. Now to catch the bad guy.

Leather Teddy then appeared behind me and was about to grab me, but then I turned around. As quick as a wink, I knocked him out.

Eli: It's bad enough when decent people I know sneak up on me, but when a bad guy does it, that's something else.

Snaptrap kept trying to blast the machine.

Snaptrap: Why won't this thing work?

Larry, who managed to get out of the shark tank felt my presence.

Larry: We're not alone!

Snaptrap: Hush it Larry.

But then, I show myself.

Eli: Freeze, Snaptrap!

Snaptrap: Agent Brown!

Eli: That's right. You're under arrest not only for trying to turn the city into mush, but for capturing Kitty Katswell, too.

Snaptrap: How did you know about that?

Eli: Shine and I were in the building when you talked about capturing her and throwing her into the lake.

Snaptrap: I really gotta start sound-proofing my lairs.

Larry: I'm outta here!

Snaptrap: Wait up!

Meanwhile, Ollie and Francisco had just thrown Kitty off the cliff and into the lake. As they left, they didn't notice Shine diving in to save her aunt.

Shine: Hold on, Aunt Kitty! I'm coming!

Kitty opened her eyes with joy. She wanted to say something, but because of the cloth around her mouth, she couldn't. Shine grabbed her and she took her back to the top of the cliff. Shine took the cloth off Kitty's mouth.

Kitty: Thank you, Shine. I had found what Snaptrap was doing and I sent a signal to the Chief, but he wasn't able to get the part that I was the one who sent the message because by then, Snaptrap kidnapped me.

Shine: No matter, Aunt Kitty. You're safe now.

Francisco's voice: Not for long, felines!

Francisco held out a blaster towards the two kitties.

Francisco: One move and I'll let both of you have it!

Shine: That's it! Aunt Kitty, get Eli!

Kitty: Right, Shine.

And Kitty went to go help me. Shine slammed into Francisco, just as he pulled the trigger, causing a blast to strike Shine in the shoulder.

Shine: GAAAH!!

Kitty hurries off to get me and I manage to stop Snaptrap and the others.

Eli: Got you.

Snaptrap: I shall now plot my revenge.

Kitty then showed up.

Kitty: Eli, I see you've already take care of Snaptrap.

Eli: I'm glad you're safe, Kitty. What about Shine?

Kitty: She's still with Ollie and Francisco.

Eli: Then we better capture them too.

We returned to see Shine holding her shoulder in pain from the blast.

Kitty: Shine!

Eli: Oh no.

Kitty: What happened?

Shine: F-Francisco blasted me...

Kitty: Oh dear.

Kitty helps Shine up.

Eli: Kitty, I'll take care of Ollie and Francisco. You get Shine to safety.

Kitty: I will. Come on, Shine.

Shine: O-Okay.

So Kitty went to get Shine to a hospital and I went after the two remaining bad guys. They were still trying to run away, but I managed to catch up to them.

Eli: Hold it there, baddies.

Ollie: It's Agent Brown.

Eli: You think blasting a poor cat girl is something you can get away with. First you kidnap Kitty Katswell and then you blast her niece? That's going to far.

Francisco: Uh oh.

I then knock them both out and cuff them. Then I take them to the jail mobile.

Ollie and Francisco: We will now plot our revenge!

Snaptrap: That's my line!

Francisco: But we said "We" not "My."

Later at the hospital. The doctor examined Shine and saw she was not badly hurt.

Doctor: Well, it's nothing serious. She just needs to rest for a few days.

Kitty: Will she be able to fight?

Doctor: I'm sorry, but she can't fight while she's in this condition. But you were smart to bring her here when you did.

Kitty: I understand.

Shine wiped away some tears. Just then, I came in along with Dudley, Cat and Michael. We had heard about what had happened.

Michael: I'm sorry for what Francisco did to you, sis. It must have been awful.

Shine: It was.

Then Shine looked a bit down again.

Kitty: Hmm... Something else is bothering Shine, but what?

Eli: Do you know, Dudley?

Dudley: No.

Cat: Maybe somebody is missing.

Shine sighed.

Kitty: Is somebody missing?

Shine: No. It's not that.

Kitty: Then, what is it?

Shine: The Chief humiliated me. He praised Eli, but chewed me out, and he won't allow me to go on any more missions, even after I heal.

Kitty: He what?

Eli: That's not nice of the chief! I will have to have a talk with him.

And before anyone could stop me, I left to go to TUFF. The Chief was in his office when I entered in.

Eli: Chief, what do you mean by not letting Shine go on anymore missions? She saved Kitty. Kitty was the one who sent the distress call. Do you realize how much Shine is suffering right now?

Chief: But what did she do? You cut the wire on the blaster.

Eli: That's beside the point. If it weren't for her, Kitty wouldn't be here. If you had just sent me, we either would have lost Kitty or have Petropolis be in mush right now. I never would have been able to save both Kitty and Petropolis all by myself!

Chief: Oy. Fine, fine. But if she does anything like that again, there will be one less cat to worry about here.


I returned to Shine at the hospital.

Eli: I just talked with the Chief and he'll let Shine back on as soon as she's healed.

Dudley: Wow Eli, you're really good with making the chief see sense.

Kitty: I'll say.

Eli: Hopefully when Shine is healed, she'll do something more amazing than what she did today.

Shine:

Cat: I'm proud of Shine for her bravery.

Michael: So am I.

Shine: Thanks, Mom. Thanks, Michael.

Shine was healed by the next week and she was back working as a TUFF Agent. She was sitting around waiting for her next mission when the Chief called for her.

Chief: Shine, something terrible is happening.

Shine: What is it, Chief?

Chief: Some sort of robotic field is trying to get to the power chamber in Petropolis. If it gets in, it will be too powerful for anyone to deal with and will leave Petropolis in the dark forever.

Shine smirked.

Shine: I'm on my way!

And she was on her way. Shine soon arrived at the area where she saw the giant robot. The robot then turned around to reveal itself to be R.I.T.A.

Shine: Hold it right there, R.I.T.A.!

R.I.T.A.: Oh how wonderful. Another TUFF Agent to get in my way.

Shine: Give me your best shot!

R.I.T.A. blasted lasers from her eyes at Shine, but Shine moved out of the way. Then, she jumped on top of R.I.T.A.

Shine: That was your best shot? Please, your mother was a garbage disposal.

R.I.T.A. tried to grab Shine with her claw, but Shine bashed at it when it was about to grab her. Then, Shine saw a sort of trapdoor on R.I.T.A. This gave her an idea.

Shine: Hmmm...

Shine opened the door and slips inside. Aha, the control hub.

Shine saw a button that said "Shut down." R.I.T.A. could feel Shine's presence inside her, but there was no way she could get Shine out because she could only control what was outside of her.

R.I.T.A.: Wait, what are you doing?

Shine: What Keswick should have done back when he first made you!

Shine pressed the button.

Shine: Lights out!

R.I.T.A. then shut off and fell to the great. Shine got out and was triumphant. She turned on her communicator.

Shine: Mission accomplished, Chief.

Chief: Well done, Shine. I take back what I said last week.

Later at TUFF.

Keswick: So you sh-sh-shut off R.I.T.A. by just pushing a button?

Shine: Indeed I did.

The other scientists started to laugh at Keswick.

Dr. Puppy: Well it looks like you didn't even know that switch was there.

Keswick: Hey. I ha-ha-had forgotten that I even put that there.

Julia: And you call my gadgets weird.

Kitty: Well done, Shine.

Dudley: You really did something amazing.

Shine:

And so Shine proved herself to be a true TUFF Agent to the rest of her team. It goes to show that we all can do amazing things and please so many people.
