I Got Dairanger On DVD

That's right. For my birthday this year, I got Gosei Sentai: Dairanger on DVD, released by Shout Factory in America. This is the 17th season of Super Sentai and it was the source material for the second season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, adapting the Thunder Zords, Monsters, and White Ranger. Lord Zedd however did not appear in Dairanger as he was created exclusively to Power Rangers, so if you watch this season and expect to see Lord Zedd, sorry, that's not going to happen. But for me, that's no big deal because it was great that Power Rangers brought in their own ideas as oppose to using what Japan had come up with.

I find it impressive that unlike with Zyuranger, all six Dairangers appear on the front cover. We have Rin/Houhouranger/Pink Ranger, Daigo/Shishiranger/Green Ranger (BTW, RIP, actor who played him), Ryo/Ryuranger/Red Ranger, Kazu/QuilinRanger/Yellow Ranger, Kou/Kibaranger/White Ranger, and Shoji/Tenmaranger/Blue Ranger.

I certainly found it to be a surprise that the White Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was a kid in Japan. Can you believe that? That was unexpected.
